We are very lucky to be part of this great transformation and to witness the amazing achievements that we are experiencing in everyday life. It all started with a clear and determined Vision.
Saudi Vision 2030 is an ambitious vision for an ambitious nation – a story of Transformation, In the five years since the Vision’s launch, Saudi Arabia has witnessed both unprecedented change and remarkable growth where every Saudi citizen is empowered to turn their dreams into reality.
"Our real wealth lies in the ambition of our people and the potential of our younger generation, who are our nation's pride and the architects of our future."
His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman Crown Prince and Prime Minister
Transformation takes many shapes and forms; organizational transformation, business transformation, digital transformation and of courses a nation transformation which is very challenging and complex! yet it is very successfully executed and realized with Saudi 2023 vision.
Transformation = The Change To The Desired State (Dream/Vision)
What is your dream/vision for your self and your role in the bigger transformation (family, organization, nation & the globe) and how would you transform to get the results that you desire and want!
striving for a better life often fuels most of our efforts and hard work. As we progress through life, our expectations rise, and we continually seek improved outcomes, elevated status, stronger relationships, higher income, and of course, greater joy and happiness.
Will explore together the concept of personal transformation as a deliberate, self-initiated change, contrasting it with the passive approach of waiting for life to improve on its own and my personal experience going through it.
The Waiting Game vs. Personal Initiative
Many of us find ourselves waiting for the ‘right moment’—a better job, more opportunities, or fulfilling experiences. However, the truth is that meaningful change begins within us. The concept of cause and effect comes into play here. Waiting for favorable circumstances might be a matter of luck and subject to variables beyond our control. However, initiating personal transformation can empower us to drive the changes we desire.
Getting Inspired – By The Technology
We frequently receive update notifications on our digital devices, and in most of our apps. To let us know that an updated version is ready to be deployed with release notes describing the new features, enhanced performance, and fixed bugs. There are always new ideas, requirements, and integration points, necessitating continuous reviews and updates to these devices and applications.

The Aha Moment
As someone who enjoys analyzing frameworks and building systems, this realization served as an “aha moment” for me. It prompted a series of open-ended questions that challenged me to think differently! Started to find different dimensions of my expertise that I could apply to myself and others!
Self-Questioning and Realization
These thoughts led me to a paradigm shift
- What about us?
- Do we require personal updates?
- Is there a need for periodic self-renewal or personal “upgrades”?
- How can we elevate our life by becoming a better version of our selves
What will it look like?
What would be the impact of this upgrade/update?
What are my priorities and expectations?
How could I update or upgrade my current capabilities and feature sets?
These questions lingered in my mind, compelling me to view myself and my life from a different perspective.
The System of Life
I began to see myself as a system, where the outputs are directly influenced by what I do and how I think and how I act.
Life Experiences: These are the raw data that feed into your system. They include your upbringing, education, relationships, and every event that has shaped you.

- Actions: Our behavior and reactions.
- Habits: Routine behaviors that shape our life.
Applications (Skills, Knowledge, and Insights): These are the tools and abilities you’ve acquired that help us process inputs more effectively.
- Professional skills
- Emotional intelligence
- Problem-solving abilities,
- Creativity
- Innovation
Services: The roles we play in life, such as being a parent, friend, or professional.
Deliverables: Tangible results like career achievements, projects
Interaction: How we engage with others.
Participation: Our involvement in communities, both small (like family) and large (like global).
Emotional support, financial contributions, social engagement, etc.
The Need for Personal Frameworks

Conducting digital transformation workshops, preparing assessments, evaluating maturity, benchmarking exercises, and discussing operating models kept me on the same track grinding these thoughts and questions on personal dimension!
What kinds of assessments, models, frameworks, benchmarks, and roadmaps do we need for our personal development and transformation?
Looking everywhere for guides and best practices gave me an opportunity to collected and gather great toolbox for such transformational journeys.
The Spark!
The concept of updating myself to Faisal 2.0 marked a pivotal moment in my personal and professional growth journey. Although it’s hard to pinpoint the spark that started all this, I believe it was a mix of career achievements (what is next), expanding ambitions, and life challenges—particularly the sudden loss of my beloved brother, who I consider my mentor, and role model (may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forgiveness and paradise). The loss of my brother was not only tragic but has also made me reflect on the meaning of life, to live our lives in our terms and it is not what you wish for it is about what you believe and act upon; which indeed, played a big role in my personal development.
My brother’s words still linger in my ears, although he is no long with us, he is alive within me with his wise words and the beautiful memories that he left. I admire him for his strong belief in Allah, for being thankful for Allah’s blessings and for appreciating his life experiences. With his great wisdom, he used to march on to meet his goals and overcome life challenges.
All in all, I can say that career achievements, expanding ambitions, and life challenges were the main factors that have lit the spark in me to initiate my personal transformation journey Faisal 2.0.

The Launch of Faisal 2.0
It was in the 3rd of April 2018, the day when I slept in illness for almost three days because of a high fever. Coming from the warm Miami to the cold Chicago was a bit of a cold shock. Sadly missed all the plans that my brother Ahmad had prepared to show me Chicago, the majestic scenes at Lake Michigan, and the list of amazing cuisines to try!
With the recovery, I felt eager and detriment to launch Faisal 2.0 and initiate my self-discovery and transformation journey. As if I wasn’t sure how much time do I have remaining in my life!
I wasn’t sure how to start or what should I do creating the details in an agile way.
Decided to start with “Faisal 2.0” based on very basic principles where I hired my self as a Chief Innovation / Disruption Officer to carryout the new responsibilities:
- Disrupt and reinvent Faisal 2.0.
- Sustain a mindset of personal growth.
- Acquire relevant training and expertise.
- Capitalize on strengths.
- Embrace lean validation and experimentation.
- Be a catalyst for change.
- Inspire and get inspired by regional and global entrepreneurs.
